Partially toughened glass (TVG) is processed using a thermal toughening process. It differs from ESG in that it has a higher bending strength than normal float glass.
With the color “Clear” both float panes (each 8mm thick) and the double foil (1.56mm) are clear, with other colors one of the two panes is tinted accordingly.
Before the ESG panes are joined together to form the LSG, all edge processing must be completed, as this cannot be done later due to the pressure.
use
In practice, TVG is primarily used to produce LSG as overhead glazing or wind protection with point holders.
Due to the specific fracture pattern with large fragments, LSG made of TVG retains a particularly high residual load-bearing capacity.
